Why do today what you can do tomorrow?

This post has been difficult for me to write. I just deleted the first line three times, unsure where to begin. Anyone who read my last post back in September knows I've been working on a new novel. So the plan was begin November 1st. I really thought it was going to come easy, after all, I was way siked, spilling over with inspiration.

Alas, it wasn't to be so.

November 1st came and went. Then the 2nd, 3rd, 4th....the next thing I know, it's November 11th and I haven't written a word. Sigh....
It's not like I have any of my normal distractions, either. November 1st I swore off gaming, cleaning, cooking and all noteworthy interaction with my family.

But then my son informed me that Season 3 of The Walking Dead had been released on Netflix.

Come on.... I had to do it, had to watch the entire season in 4 days, popcorn and diet Coke my only source of sustenance. It was awesome. I was on a roll! Have you ever watched Extreme Cheapskates? Say Yes to the Dress? What Not to Wear? Uh, yes, I so went there. The ten year old was watching them, and so was I.

Then reality set in and I realized I was still at square zero.

November 11th I started writing--frantically.

November 23rd (that's today b.t.w.) I have written a total of 11,010 words. Seven days left of National Novel Writing Month, and that 50,000 word goal has never looked so distant.

So, I dedicate this post in honor of all those fellow procrastinators out there (Let's not mention that my ten year old showed me this video to make a point):
